Collector’s Series #1 – Royal Navy F4U-1 Corsair Mk.I recognizing the Squadron #1850 from the H.M.S. Vengeance. This Squadron trained to master the Corsair but before they became combat ready, the war ended in Europe. They left the Atlantic and steamed for the South Pacific to continue training and prepare for battle. While stationed off the coast of Australia, the Squadron was finally ready and the H.M.S. Vengeance sailed to engage the enemy. While in route, the Enola Gay B-29 bomber made her historic flights that ended the war. Squadron #1850 never saw combat.
